#31 Why process can be a recipe for failure

Process isn't all it is cranked up to be.

Hi everyone!

As promised, no more self-analysis! Just your usual thinking about baking, recipes, process, and how much of a palaver it can be ... Apple pie anyone?

Right size the rigour

Process isn't aways a positive thing. In fact, often process can get in the way of progress. Which makes it all the weirder that – even when we know it is a complete waste of time and effort – we all seem remarkably okay with even the most insane rigmarole our workplaces put us through.

The more you can be critical of all of the process, the more you will be able to right-size the process to fit your circumstances, and the more likely the process will actually add value.

That's what this month's article is on – right-sizing your process to fit your risk and the stakes. And why one size does not fit all.

I'd love to know what you make of it ... Read it here: 👇

Oh and surprise: the new website it up! 🎉

And also HAH! Turns out I do know how to write a brief brief! That will show all of you (mostly my big sister Em) who took the opportunity to question my understanding of the word after my last missive!

As always, I would love to hear your thoughts on this (or anything else), so do reply to this email, DM me on LinkedIn, or send me a letter via pigeon.

I cannot tell you how much I like hearing from y'all!

And until next time, stay excellent! 💖
