Busy, busy, busy ...

Hi everyone!

It has been a couple of those weeks.

You know the kind. Work spilling into the evenings and the weekend. You get your washing done but it’s a been 5 days and it is still on the couch, unfolded. You have a dream about the distinctions between a work-order and case in your system’s entity model. Your partner does the dishes and the vacuuming, and brings you tea.

And rather than writing you only have time for the odd snarky comment here and there.

Which is why it is pretty surprising to me that I have actually managed to get a bunch of non-work stuff done in amongst all the work stuff?

Most notably, a project that has been brewing for a while: Podcast!

Introducing: A Real Messy Business 🎙️

A Real Messy Business is (I guess “going to be” is the accurate tense?) the show that is part agony-aunt, part advice-column, partly Hannah-convincing-her friends-to talk-to-her-about-work-stuff-on-the-weekend, but all about your messy real world problems …

And if you want a vibe check, here’s my fav clip from the episode with Jasmin with a totally unplanned jinx moment when we’re discussing standards:

I’m got two episodes recorded already, and the next one lined up, and am busy learning a stupidly large amount about a whole host of things I hadn’t given a remote thought to previously! I’m a complete noob and it is actually kind of delightful!

In any event, I plan to build up a bit of a backlog and then release them somewhat regularly. So stay tuned.

Or even better: email me a real problem to unpack on an upcoming episode!

But I will (hopefully) get ahead on all the things and have more opinions to share next time.
